The SADC region continues to experience a significant rise in frequent and undocumented migration flow of humans, with significant importation/exportation of malaria from/to high/low transmission countries. Human movement across E8 borders facilitates the continued transmission of parasites into eliminating areas, serving as one of the key barriers to attaining elimination.
DAPP Zambia serves as an implementing partner to the E8 project for reduction of cross-border malaria transmission through testing and treatment of mobile and migrant populations; the project is being implemented along the E5 borders in collaboration with other organizations.
